“It started as a parable — then it became the archetype of my life”
“It started as a parable — then it became the archetype of my life”

Prodigal Boy comes from a parable story that shaped me deeply — the parable of the Prodigal Son. It was my favorite story as a kid, but I didn’t realize how much it mirrored my own life until later. During my college years, I was consumed by the material world — chasing validation, surface-level success, and spending recklessly on things that looked good but left me feeling spiritually empty.

Riotous Living to Revelation

To fill the void of emptiness, I turned to music. I started producing beat tapes, sampling gospel loops and layering them with 808 kits. Each beat became a moment, a memory, and a conversation with God. Each beat and project was named after something I had lived through — together, it tells the story of a boy experiencing a revelation to return home, finding purpose, and being alive again.

Finding Purpose

The journey of making music sparked a calling to extend my creative efforts into streetwear. I wanted to create streetwear items that serve as medium for storytelling and expressing transformation. Every piece became an archetype and parable, offering meaningful messages to rediscover purpose. After talking with like minded creatives and mentors, Eventually, I wanted to expand my platform in offering a space for dreamers and creatives to share their story so that the world can learn from it. Sharing personal life lessons that can be used as universal wisdom.

Transforming Mindset to Fulfill Divine Purpose

Alive Again is rooted in the essence of change, Versa. In versa, we find the power of transformation. It is the decision to break from the past and embrace a new becoming. But when we add an L, it becomes Versal. It symbolizes a universal change that is not only within ourselves, but reflected in the world around us. Alive Again is a living statement of transformation in mindset: from void to purpose, from wandering to awakening, from Versa to Versal

Parable of the Prodigal boy

When I started to make music, my mindset was set to chase validation, likes, and praise in a world that rewards popularity over authenticity. I would obsess over feedback from others to satisfy my ego, but it would slowly drain the cerebral idea of Prodigal boy. The deeper I leaned into approval, the further I drifted from authenticity. I wasn’t creating out of happiness anymore — I was craving for validation. After having the courage to release my first beat project, I learned that not all smiles are sincere as I received praises in person and thrown shade behind my back. It was my first real encounter of fake support —

a kind of support that looks like encouragement on the surface but is spiteful underneath. However, I kept creating in silence and worked on new project ventures because purpose doesn’t need permission — it just needs to be protected.

This experience reminded me that I was seeking the wrong things in people. Chasing validation may feel like motion, but it often pulls you in the wrong direction. True growth begins the moment you stop chasing applause and start honoring your inner flame. Purpose isn’t found in being noticed — it’s found in being authentic, even when no one’s watching. When Prodigal boy ventured into streetwear, I sought out mentors who not only shared the same passion but also understood the same early struggles of building something from the ground up. I wanted to learn from those who had walked the same uncertain path and turned their vision into something real.

"Flowers need dirt to grow." - Deeholliday

It’s a simple statement with a great meaning behind it. Growth doesn’t happen in perfect conditions as it begins in the mess buried beneath the surface. Just like flowers push through soil to reach the light, we often grow through seasons of failure and discomfort. The dirt represents the struggles we often try to avoid—like failure, doubt, and discomfort. But without that dirt, there’s no foundation to grow from. Success doesn’t happen in spite of it; it happens because of it. Sometimes, the very thing that tried to bury you is what helps you rise.
